Jerri, the Frog, and a Whole New Twist

Western North Carolina’s most popular Gourmet Chef, Jerri Fifer, is at it again, but this time she’s mixing in a fresh approach to her legendary culinary masterpieces. For those who have missed the delectable creations produced by our local master of the kitchen, you will be excited to know that she can be found once again stirring up magic at Jer’s Kitchen in the Whistle Stop Mall in Franklin.

Best known for her nationally renowned cuisine at WNC’s own Frog and Owl Café, Fifer has had her recipes printed in magazines such as Gourmet, Bon Appétit, and Tasteful Tastings. She was named one of the top 25 women chefs in the U.S, with a Five-Star Designation in 1992, and after 37 years Jerri is still surprising us all with her unique style of courageous cooking.

Jer’s Kitchen is already being described as “a refreshing change” and “exactly what lunch in the mountains needed.” Its menu boasts all-natural and homemade items, without adding extra stress to the wallet. And for all of you Frogheads out there, Jer’s Kitchen is finally the place to find a number of Jerri’s age old classics, such as her notorious Caesar Salad, Tomato Basil Soup, Chicken Salad, and Bread Pudding. Jer’s Kitchen offers many other specialty soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts ranging from Mediterranean to Southwestern, Vegetarian to French. Also designed to meet the needs of those looking for a special touch added to their upcoming events or meetings, Jer’s Kitchen now offers private catering provided by Jerri and her handpicked staff of Emily Welch, Camille Barton, Nancy Mackoviak, and Jim Bridges.
